vinfo (c) 2001 by StyX/HeadcrasH it will display your gfx board's VBE version and all supported videomodes. you can push the output to a file by doing vinfo > out.txt or something similar. press any key until you're back on the prompt. what does all that output mean ? everything very easy to understand. at "colors" you get three numbers. the first one is the true number of bpp, the second the used one. you can see this e.g. at the 15bpp modes where one bit is empty. the last number is the number of colors. last info is whether this mode is supported in LFB access mode on your board. 1 means your card rules, 0 means it sucks. most modern cards support that except maybe for 1600x1200x32 or something like that :) for any comments and questions contact me. styx@head-crash.de
